Skin rash and steroid cream?

recently i discovered that both the sides of my faces have developed some sort of nasty rash... i went to the doctors today and he gave me this type of cream that contained a tiny bit of steroid. im supposed to rub that on my skin, and am wondering if i will get the effects of the steroid like athletes would when they inject it into themselves|||Steroid creams have much lower dosages than what athletes use. Even when the prescribe oral steroids such as prednisone for a rash it is usually only a very low dosage and for around 7 days anyway. Steroid creams can thin the skin and they usually recommend 3 weeks and then to not use it for one week. For your face, since the skin is thin to begin with, I am sure it is a very low dosage as this is a fragile area.

Some strong steroidal creams do change the colour of the skin over the long term and should not be used on the face.

You might get flare ups from time but the ideas is to control the symptoms. Try and avoid soaps on the face and go for a cleanser like dove bar. (Dove is not soap)

Good Luck|||No. The steroid type in the cream is not the same amount of steroid that the athletes use. The cream type is actuallly a form of cortisone that will break tissues down, and is not an anabolic steroid that builds tissue up. That%26#039;s why the caution for thin skin and easy bruising when using the cream form.|||They are different class of steroids drugs, you don%26#039;t need to worry about that. The steroids that the doctor gave you will subside the rash and itching, just apply in less quantity as prescribed
